【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesrequirementstobeusedtoassesstheresistanceofgaiterstocuttingbyhand-heldchainsawsandotherproperties.Arequirementforthestrengthofunderfootstrapsofgaitersisalsoincluded.ThisEuropeanStandardisapplicabletogaitersusedtogetherwithsafetyfootwearaccordingtoEN345:1992andEN345:1992/A1withametallictoecap,becausegaitersofferonlypartialprotectionagainstchainsawcutting.GaitersaccordingtothisEuropeanStandardarenotintendedforuseinsituationswherethereisasignificantriskoftrippingsuchastreeclimbingorinforests.ThetestmethodsassociatedwiththerequirementsinthisEuropeanStandardaregiveninEN381-8.
