【摘要】:Factorsgoverningselectionofamethodforthedeterminationofuraniumincludeavailablequantityofsample,samplepurity,desiredlevelofreliability,andequipmentavailability.Thistestmethodissuitableforsamplesbetween20to300mgofuranium,isapplicabletofastbreederreactor(FBR)-mixedoxideshavingauraniumtoplutoniumratioof2.5andgreater,istoleranttowardsmostmetallicimpurityelementsusuallyspecifiedforFBR-mixedoxidefuel,andusesnospecialequipment.Theruggednessofthetitrationmethodhasbeenstudiedforboththevolumetric(6)andtheweight(7)titrationofuraniumwithdichromate.1.1Thistestmethodcoversunirradiateduranium-plutoniummixedoxidehavingauraniumtoplutoniumratioof2.5andgreater.Thepresenceoflargeramountsofplutonium(Pu)thatgiveloweruraniumtoplutoniumratiosmaygivelowanalysisresultsforuranium(U)(1),iftheamountofplutoniumtogetherwiththeuraniumissufficienttoslowthereductionstepandpreventcompletereductionoftheuraniumintheallottedtime.Useofthistestmethodforloweruraniumtoplutoniumratiosmaybepossible,especiallywhen20to50mgquantitiesofuraniumarebeingtitratedratherthanthe100to300mginthestudycitedinRef(1).Confirmationofthatinformationshouldbeobtainedbeforethistestmethodisusedforratiosofuraniumtoplutoniumlessthan2.5.1.2TheamountofuraniumdeterminedinthedatapresentedinSection12was20to50mg.However,thistestmethod,asstated,containsironinexcessofthatneededtoreducethecombinedquantitiesofuraniumandplutoniuminasolutioncontaining300mgofuraniumwithuraniumtoplutoniumratiosgreaterthanorequalto2.5.Solutionscontainingupto300mguraniumwithuraniumtoplutoniumratiosgreaterthanorequalto2.5havebeenanalyzed(1)usingthereagentvolumesandconditionsasdescribedinSection10.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection8.
